I have worked for Darton College in Albany, GA since the summer of 1993, and as the director of the Writing Lab since the spring of 1995. My husband and I have lived and worked in several states, so I have had the opportunity to teach all ages from pre-school to college level, and the opportunity to teach all types of students from gifted to severely learning/developmentally disabled, ESL/ESOL, and currently work with students in the learning support classes. My most interesting teaching times were the summer work outside of Philadelphia with the Migrant Education program where I went to the fields and mushrooms houses with a bag of materials, a blanket, and a bell. I set up shop, rang the bell, and “taught” everyone who came – from little children, to their siblings, parents, and even grandparents! I am an active community volunteer as well as supporter of my school. My husband and I are supporters of the 50% League as well as other philanthropic efforts in our community.
